BFA-PTSA Announcement

The BFA-PTSA is warning that an officer election will be held on Tuesday, August 24th from 7:00-8:00pm at the BFA Elementary School (a door greeter will be present from 6:50–7:10pm to open the door and direct members to the meeting room). The nominees are Mary McQuillen for treasurer and Sue Hogan for president. Nominees from the floor are welcome at the meeting. We will not be electing a vice president at this time.

Also, please be aware that the recommendation at this time for our PTSA is to not conduct any fundraising and/or activities this 2010-2011 fiscal year with the exception of our Success By Six Standing Committee. Unfortunately we do not have members or volunteers available to successfully facilitate activities or fundraising. It is our deepest hope that over this year we are able to strengthen our membership and regroup to be able to become a fully operating PTSA next year (2011–2012).

This will mean that Open House Dinner, Scholastic Book Fair, Senior Scholarship, TV Turn Off Week, budgeted line items, and all the many other activities that we support will not be able to happen. If the membership is able to pull together with volunteers this year, the membership could vote in a budget and resume activity sooner. If the membership isn't able to strengthen this year, then we will have to dissolve our PTSA completely and cease our existence completely. After much struggling, we hope this plan for this year allows us to be able to move forward without having to dissolve.
